Repowering of the SD-40

Lee's Missouri Pacific SD-40 was recently repowered and
successfully test run at Western Illinois Railroad.

This is the same motor and controller technology that was used in the
recent re-powering of the Union Pacific GP-40 locomotive: an E-Tek permanent magnet motor with Sevcon controller. This combination is certainly not the cheapest route to power an electric locomotive, but the performance is unbeatable!
