even if you are a diesel lover. I got to see this The owner of this SD-45 was elusive and so I don't know the data on it. From my educated guess, it looks like the trucks and frame are Railroad Supply. The body looked like the fiberglass Railroad Supply body with an SD-45 rear section. It was an excellent looking locomotive.
These two SantaFe GP-38's from Rail Systems. The front locomotive was powered by the hydraulic pump on the second locomotive. It was impressive towing about 15 cars most of the time.
These photos are taken from the engineer's seat. "My seat" on the way out to heck and gone or some name like that. This division of the railroad goes south west of the main yard straight out for over a mile. In the first photo I've just gone through the gate about 1/4 mile from the yard. The next photo I've gone about 3/4 of a mile and the last one is almost a mile out. As you can tell, the desert looks much the same all over.
These cars were built by Paul Karczewski of Salt Lake City. He is in the car building business and as you can see, he does great work. He has the best cars I have seen for the value. If interested, you can e-mail him at pmkar31@aol.com
Here is Paul's GP-60. This locomotive is a kit from MDM locomotive. "Kit" doesn't mean that Paul didn't do an excellent job in building the locomotive.
Two grain cars and a hi-cube box built by Paul for Jerry Smillic.
