Lee and the team continue assembly of the humdreds of component parts. The all-aluminum construction is held together with lots of rivets and then some more rivets...

 

These pictures show the bridge and its rolling arm. The large box at the top of is for the counterweights. The picture on the left is the stationary part of the bridge. Note the rack on the top edge where the lift bridge pinion rolls engages.

 

Here are some photos of the completed bridge project. The rolling action is amazing and with counterweights installed, it can be moved up and down with one finger.

This is a one of kind work of art that hopefully one day will find a home
as a centerpiece on a G Scale layout.
